Wal-Mart
I took Eli 3.5 to Wal-Mart yesterday to buy lollipops. We checked out and were walking toward the exit when we saw it: The "Appalachian 5-string Band Pickin' Pac."A banjo. With accessories. I don't know what those accessories might be, but please free to let your own mind roam unfettered.
Let me say this as plainly as I can: I don't want to shop in a retail store where banjos are merchandised as impulse items. It's one thing to buy a banjo as a planned, reasoned purchase--possibly you have bluegrass musicians in your family, or maybe you just saw the movie "Deliverance." But the kind of man who would a banjo on impulse is not the kind of man I want to know.
