Slide Secret

Thanks to DQ reader Ron Watkins, who sent in this tip about slides:

I'm not sure if this is still common knowledge, but a very good way to speed up a slide is to polish it, carefully, with wax paper. Often, when we went to the park as kids, my father would bring along wax paper just in case. It would usually take a long time by kids' standards to
get the slide really waxed, 20 minutes or so if doing it alone... but it was a good way to make friends, too. You could get even a big slide waxed in under 5 minutes if you got several kids working on it.

And you'd go down FAST after it was done, too... so fast, in fact, that if you do this, I suggest you catch the kids the first time they come down the slide. They are going to be MOVING. Once they've been down it once they'll be fine, but that first time is a doozy. As I recall, it
was pretty normal to come off the slide running.

Dubious Quality is not responsible for any head injuries that occur as a result of using this technique. And if you're out drinking on the weekend, I strongly recommend against carrying any wax paper with you for wacky drunken sliding sessions.

However, on the positive side, there is no risk of chlamydia.
