Not the Finest Moment of One's Career

Thanks to all of you who wrote in and let me know that protector of culture Roger Ebert was, at one point in his career, a screenwriter.

His contributions?
--Beneath the Valley of the Ultra-Vixens
--Russ Meyer's 'Up'
--Beyond the Valley of the Dolls

All three of these "epics" were Russ Meyer films. Meyer's films can probably best be described as soft-core boobie pictures with large doses of juvenile and offensive humor.

Not that there's anything wrong with juvenile humor.

I'm not saying that someone who wrote soft-core boobie screenplays can't be a defender of culture. I'm just saying that anyone who wrote a screenplay with 'Ultra-Vixens' in the title might take themselves a little less seriously.
