7800 GS--AGP!

After mentioning a few weeks ago that it looked like the high-end AGP market was dead, a new card has suddenly appeared. It's the BFG 7800 GS OC, it's an AGP part, and it's apparently already being sold even though Nvidia hasn't officially announced it.

Here's an Anandtech preview:

From the benchmarks, it looks like the 7800 GS is roughly 20-30% faster than the Radeon X850XT, which was previously the fastest AGP card available. It costs $350 and someone from the Nvidia forums picked one up at their local CompUSA. Here's a link to that post:

Thanks to the Inquirer for the heads-up on this one.

That's a tempting upgrade over my X800XT-PE, except I've had a Radeon card now for at least two years (maybe three) and I've had so few problems.
