Planet Earth
I mentioned the Discovery HD series Planet Earth a few weeks ago, but it's worth mentioning again after seeing the "Shallow Seas" episode.Mind-blowing.
Great white sharks attacking seals in ultra-slow HD, with one fifteen-footer leaping at least eight feet out of the water. I don't mean his nose was eight feet out of the water--his entire body was at least eight feet out of the water. Freaking awesome. And there was an attack before that one where the great white looked like a twenty-footer. Nice jaws.
Dolphins hydroplaning in extremely shallow water to catch fish.
Sea snakes hunting cooperatively with goatfish.
There's also quite a bit of coral reef footage in this episode, which looks glorious beyond words in HD.
