Doughnut Stats

That, of course, is a section of the Rube Goldberg-esque doughnut machine found at Krispy Kreme. Once the dough is placed in racks, it begins a conveyor belt-based journey into, through, and out of a hot oil pond (automatically flipped over halfway through the cooking process), then passes beneath an icing waterfall.

An important statistic (well, to me): we timed the pastry shells (no holes) as they went through the process, and they cook for 1:05 on each side.
