***Daniel Bagley has not checked in yet today, but he didn't answer Friday's question so I'm going to go ahead and post the standings now. The three points he can possibly claim will not make a difference in who wins the contest.

We had our first hardware breakdown. Donovan Neil e-mailed me from work to let me know that his home system crashed and he had only extremely limited Internet access now.

It's an endurance contest.

There were actually two correct answers (I had forgotten about one when I posted the question). The answer I had in mind was "Barb Banal" from her holiday letter last year. However, in a previous GG column, there had been a holiday letter from "Molly." So I've apparently started a holiday tradition without even knowing it.

I'm still on Barb's Christmas mailing list and I'm sure she'll be making an appearance next month. Here's an excerpt from last year's letter (December 16th in the archives, if you'd like to see the full version:
I don't even want to talk about our relatives, but to just stop short all the whining and crying if I didn't, here you go.
The Johnsons: Two dead, one dead drunk, and Josephine went off and married a gypsy. I guess an earring and chest hair is super sexy if you come from Kentucky.
The Maxwells: Dead, dead, dying, dead, in prison. Make that pregnant in prison.
The Williamsons: I don't know how they are, and frankly, I just don't care. Like they ever did a damn thing for me.
