Gaming Links

First off, Wes (not sure if he wants to be exposed as a DQ reader, so no last name) let me know that he picked up Half-Life 2: Episode One at Circuit City for $7.99. This is an in-store deal only, and it's good until June 16. I checked our local CC ad from Sunday's paper and verified that it was listed here as well, so this appears to be nationwide.

DQ reader jeansberg (one of our Finnish representatives) sent me a link to an RPGDot article about an upcoming RPG called The Age of Decadence. Here's a description of the game from the lead designer:
The Age of Decadence is an isometric, turn-based, single-player 3D role-playing game set in a low magic, post-apocalyptic fantasy world, inspired by the fall of the Roman Empire. The game features a detailed skill-based character system, non-linear gameplay, multiple skill-based ways to handle quests, choices & consequences, and extensive dialogue trees."

That's right-"post-apocalyptic," which means I'm in. That setting is so incredibly underused right now.

Here's a link to the full interview.

Datter sent me a link to a 15-minute video walkthrough of Crysis, the upcoming game from the developers of Far Cry.

If you want to see what their new engine can do, take a look at this. It's hard to know how that translates into what you'll see in-game, but it's staggering nonetheless.

Here are the interview links (the interview is in halves):
