Not Officially Substantiated
I heard from two Gamestop employees who wish to remain anonymous. One said that their store was actually taking Wii pre-orders today (the first place I've heard of doing this). The second said that Gamestop would be opening up Wii pre-orders nationwide before this weekend.Given the timeframe between now and launch, I think the nationwide pre-orders before this weekend seems pretty reasonable.
Again, no official confirmation on this, but that's what I was told.
