Gaming Links

Some interesting stuff today, thanks to you guys.

Russ Pitts wrote a superb article for The Escapist called "Secret Sauce: The Rise of Blizzard." It's one of the finest articles I've ever seen in The Escapist, and you can find it here.

Matthew Sakey's excellent Culture Clash column has a new edition, and you can read it here. I don't necessarily agree with his slant this month (on the ESRB), but he's always worth reading. I do absolutely agree with one thing in the column, though: the cartoon Kim Possible KICKS ASS.

From Francis Cermark, a link to an interviewer with Thomas Langhanki, lead designer of Paraworld. Here's the link.

I played Paraworld for over two hours at E3, and it's nothing short of sensational. I'm working on a column to explain why, which you'll hopefully be able to read by the end of the week.

Some of you may remember a puzzle game called The Fool's Errand. It was released in 1990 and was regarded as one of the most interesting puzzle games ever made. Here's a description from Moby Games:
Tells the story of the Fool, who wanders throughout the land solving puzzles to break the enchantments, discover the land's treasures, and undo evil. Features word searches, cryptograms, jigsaw puzzles, anagrams, a Tarot-based card game, and lots of other bizarre puzzles.

It seems like a sequel has been in the works for years. Wait, a sequel has been in the works for years. Allegedly, though, the wait is nearly over, and The Fool and His Money is scheduled for release on August 7th. If you're interested, here's a link to the site, and you can also download the original game (for free): The Fool and His Money.
